Demographic influences on baseline and derived scores from the trail making test in healthy older Australian adults.

چکیده
Normative data from 363 community-dwelling older adults (60-89 years) is presented in relation to performance on the Trail Making Test. Age and years of education were identified as significantly impacting on performance. Therefore, data are presented for four separate age groups (60-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-89) and two different lengths of education. In addition to data for Trails A and B, information is provided for the difference and ration scores, which are increasingly used by clinicians to interpret executive function.

Czech version of the Trail Making Test: normative data and clinical utility.
The Trail Making Test (TMT) comprises two psychomotor tasks that measure a wide range of visual-perceptual and executive functions. The purpose of this study was to provide Czech normative data and to examine the relationship between derived TMT indices and demographic variables. The TMT was administered to 421 healthy adults. Two clinical groups (n = 126) were evaluated to investigate the clin...
متن کاملA double-blind, randomized clinical trial of dietary supplementation on cognitive and immune functioning in healthy older adults
BACKGROUND Declining cognitive function is relatively common and increasingly prevalent. Studies have shown that different nutrients (e.g., Ginkgo biloba and vitamin E) appear to be effective at improving memory and concentration, while less is known about their effect on immunity. METHODS This study investigated the effect of Ginkgo Synergy(®) plus Choline (n = 33) and OPC Synergy(®) plus Ca...
متن کاملTrail Making Test in traumatic brain injury, schizophrenia, and normal ageing: sample comparisons and normative data.
The Trail Making Test (TMT) has been a useful assessment tool to investigate executive function. Several studies have recently improved the existing TMT norms by mean of large samples of healthy individuals stratified by a number of demographic variables from different populations. In contrast, criticisms have been raised about the utility of norms from healthy samples to detect changes across ...
متن کاملReference data for derived Trail Making Test scores in Greek healthy population
Background The Trail Making Test (TMT) via part B (TMT-B) has been widely used in the evaluation of the executive functions [1]. Apart from the direct scores (time to complete part A and B), derived TMT scores (B-A, B/A, B-A/A) are more and more used, as sensitive measures of prefrontal functioning [2-4]. The aim of the present study was to provide reference data from a large sample of Greek he...
